Saudi Arabia pips Algeria to lift 2021 Arab Cup

Saudi Arabia on Tuesday edged past Algeria 2-1 in the finals at Cairo International Stadium; bagging 2021 Arab Cup U-20 for the second time in its history.

The Saudi national side won the Arab Cup for the first time in 1985; and made it to the finals in 2011 and 2012 consecutively but remained runners-up

In an exciting game on Tuesday, the first goal for the Green Falcons; scored by Musab Al-Juwair in the third minute after the start of the match.

While the other Saudi player, Abdullah Radif, missed an opportunity to double the score for his country; by missing a penalty kick in the 18th minute as Algerian goalkeeper Akram Ounass blocked a shot brilliantly; and turned it into a corner kick that yielded nothing.

Later, Algerian striker Adel Boulbina equalized for the Algerian team in the 53rd minute of the game with a shot from inside the penalty area.

Saudi defender Mohammed Suleiman Bakr scored the winning goal for his country in the 77th minute of the match, sealing the victory for his side.

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia knocked out hosts Egypt in the semi-final with a 3-2 win to set up the final against Algeria.
