Saudi Arabia heads an Arab movement at UN to maintain security and peace

The Arab Troika, being led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in New York, has held intensive meetings with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the permanent members of the Security Council including the United States of America, the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Republic of France , in addition to meetings with the Federal Republic of Germany and UN Undersecretary General for Political and Peace-building Affairs Rosemary A. DiCarlo.

These meetings come in light of political challenges and security threats facing Arab countries, as an embodiment of the spirit of cooperation and solidarity in the Charter of the League of Arab States, implementation of the resolutions of the League of Arab States which provide for the maintenance of Arab security and ways to deal with serious threats in the Middle East region, and maintenance of peace and security in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and international resolutions.

Theseefforts also aim to strengthen cooperation and coordination between Arab statesand the United Nations, members of the Security Council and influential membersof the United Nations, in order to serve Arab causes and enhance security andstability in the region.

The meetingsof the Arab troika on behalf of the States members of the League of Arab Statesincluded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom ofMorocco, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Yemen, as well as theobserver delegation of the League of Arab States to the United Nations.
