Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi received in Cairo on Monday Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah.
The officials discussed bilateral relations between their brotherly nations and ways to boost them in all fields. They also tackled Arab and regional affairs.
Prince Faisal relayed to Sisi the greetings of King Salman; and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.
The minister later met with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukri. Addressing a press conference later, Prince Faisal said talks tackled the situation in Libya; stressing that Saudi Arabia stands firmly behind Egypt and its Cairo Declaration.
He underlined Riyadh's firm position to resolve the crisis through peaceful political consultations. He also emphasized the need to reach a ceasefire and respect Egypt's national security, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
Prince Faisal called against foreign meddling in Libya and the need to adopt Egypt's position on resolving the crisis.
Saudi Arabia and Egypt "are in constant contact and we will cooperate together to achieve security and peace in the region," added the minister.
For his part; Shoukri hailed Prince Faisal for choosing Egypt as the destination of his first overseas trip since assuming his position.
This reflects the special ties that bind Egypt and Saudi Arabia in all fields, he remarked.
