Saudi Arabia has condemned the bombing of a passenger bus in the Iraqi province of Karbala that led to deaths and injuries, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Friday’s blast targeted a minibus outside the city of Karbala, killing 12 civilians, including children and women.
According to security officials, five passengers were also wounded in the bombing, which occurred as the minibus was passing through an Iraqi army checkpoint between Karbala and Hillah.
ISIS, through its Amaq agency, on Saturday claimed responsibility for the bombing of the bus that killed 12 people near the Iraqi province of Karbala.
Earlier, Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi said that security forces had arrested a man suspected of the bombing.
Iraq declared victory over ISIS in 2017, but its sleeper cells continue to launch sporadic insurgencies and attacks across the country.
