Saudi and Chinese Navies started “Blue Sword 2019” Exercise in Jeddah

The Saudi Royal Navy, represented by theSpecial Forces of the Western Fleet in Jeddah, yesterday carried out the mixednaval exercise "Blue Sword 2019", with its counterpart from the ChineseNavy, in the presence of the Commander of the Western Fleet Maj. Gen. Falehbin Abdul-Rahman Al-Faleh, and military attaché Lin Li, at the King FaisalNaval Base in the Western Fleet.

Director of Blue Sword 2019, Col. AbdullahMohammed Al-Omari, in which he stressed the importance of this joint exercise,and that comes within the framework of facing all challenges, and maintainingpeace and stability in the region, in addition to many objectives all-related tofull readiness and maintenance of security and peace of the region and theworld.

Col. Al-Omari explained that the exercise aimsto build mutual trust, enhance cooperation between the Saudi and Chinese Navies,exchange experiences and develop the capacity of participants in the exercisein the field of maritime terrorism and piracy, and raise the level of trainingand combat readiness.

Later, Director of Exercise Operations Lt. Col. TariqBin Salem Al-Salem, presented a visual briefing on the activities of theexercise and its fields, adding to the stages of the exercise.

Afterwards, the commander of the Western Fleetwelcomed the attendees, announcing the opening of the mixed naval exercise "BlueSword 2019", which will be carried out over three weeks, hoping that theobjectives of this exercise to be achieved in the interest of the naval forcesof the two friendly countries.
