SAFCSP launches Homathon Challenge Contest
SAFCSP; the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones launched on Tuesday the Homathon Challenge Contest. This is to promote innovative solutions to meet the current circumstances of the Coronavirus pandemic, SPA reported.
SAFCSP declared that registration for the eight-field contest designed for programmers from within Saudi Arabia and the Arab countries, started since Tuesday April 14, 2020 through April 18 while the event will be held from April 19-25.
The total prize of $85,000, goes to top three software and technical solutions; in the fields of digital government services, financial technology, education, health, teleworking, logistics, trade, as well as entertainment. This is with a total of $50,000 for the first prize winner; $25,000 for the second; and $15,000 for the third.
This contest will take place in a virtual environment with participation of international arbitrators from the world's major technical companies, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Quality programming and technological solution
The contest is in tandem with the current circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic. It aims at coming up with quality programming and technological solution. This is also to contribute to curbing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.
The outcomes of the Homathon to go for governments, companies and communities in the Arab world. So as to enhance and provide teleworking, and strengthen ties between developers in the Arab world.
A basic condition for participating in the 7-day challenge; is that the presented solutions should have an impact on the Arab communities. They (the solutions) must also be in the form of software, hardware and POS.
The Homathon will grant participants the opportunity to find the biggest possible number of challenges facing governments. It will also contribute to shedding light on the participants' technical skills. This will open the way to attracting them to work in Saudi Arabia in future, the SAFCSP said.
