Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemns terrorist attacks in Mali and Burkina Faso

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks perpetrated in Mali, Mopti region, and Burkina Faso, Koulpelogo province, respectively, during which about 20 people were killed and many others injured.

The Secretary General of the OIC, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the Governments of Mali and Burkina Faso.

"Theperpetrators of terrorist acts will always be considered the enemies of peace,"the Secretary General of the OIC said.  

Inreiterating the solidarity of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation with Maliand Burkina Faso, the Secretary General encouraged countries to coordinateefforts to identify those responsible for the violence, who should be broughtto justice.

Dr. Al-Othaimeenonce again reaffirmed the position of the OIC that rejects terrorism in all itsforms and manifestations and the OIC's support for initiatives and effortsaimed at maintaining the security, peace and stability of the countries in theSahel region.
