The Organization of Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross has strongly condemned the targeting of Abha International Airport resulting in a number of injuries and death of a Syrian resident in a terrorist war crime using a drone that targeted the Airport's parking area.

The Organization said that the attack on theairport, which is packed with thousands of passengers, violates theinternational law and threatens international peace and security.

In a statement, the Organization expressed itscondemnation of this terrorist attack, describing the attack as a flagrantviolation of the international law and a dangerous escalation that underminesthe security and stability of the region, pointing out that targeting theairport as a civilian establishment confirms disregard for the lives ofcivilians, and lack of respect for international laws and conventions thatprevent the targeting of civilians in any form of aggression even in a case ofwar.

In the context of the statement, SecretaryGeneral the Organization Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Tuwaijri, stressed that theattack on Abha Airport is a terrorist act that is equivalent to aninternational war crime that requires international prosecution, and acontinuous violation of relevant Security Council resolutions, includingresolutions 2216 and 2231.

He also expressed sincere condolences to thefamily of the Syrian resident, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
