Saudi Arabia will host the Spanish Super Cup for three years, accordingto the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the General Sport Authority(GSA) in Saudi Arabia on Monday, with the first edition to beheld with the participation of four teams in January.

This announcement came on the sidelines of the draw, which took place at the headquarters of the Federation, noting that the next edition of the Spanish Super Cup will be the first time to see the participation of four teams.

Chairmanof the GSA, Prince Abdul-Aziz bin Turki Al-Faisal through his official accounton "Twitter": "Continuing to host major world sporting events…I am pleased to announce hosting the Spanish Super Cup in SaudiArabia".

Al-Faisalexplained that the Spanish Super Cup will be held with the participationof Barcelona, champions in the past two seasons, and its rival Real Madrid, inaddition to Cup holders Valencia and Atletico Madrid, between January 8 and 12.

For itspart, the Royal Spanish Football Federation confirmed that "the SpanishSuper Cup will be held in Saudi Arabia in the next three years during thewinter, in order to relieve the pressure of competitions, at the request ofclubs and players," according to "AFP".

The SpanishSuper Cup, to be hosted by King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, willcoincide with the winter break of the European Championships.
