Yemeni Parliament Speaker Sultan al-Barakani discussed with Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al Jaber the Saudi development and humanitarian efforts in Yemen and regional and international efforts to achieve peace and nationwide ceasefire.

Barakani also explained that the Saudi role is pivotal and vital in Yemen's development, economic, political, and military fields.

The Speaker also expressed his great appreciation to the Saudi government and people for all their support.

Barakani also pointed out that his meeting with the Saudi ambassador to Yemen at the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) was positive.

He indicated that al-Roba al-Aly company would begin constructing al-Abr Road within a week. Besides, announcing the tender for Hayjat al-Abed Road within 15 days.

Al-Abr road is vital for the daily passage of thousands of Yemenis towards Saudi Arabia; coming through the al-Wadea border crossing; which is the only land port that's currently operating.

Overcoming obstacles facing political situation amid the ongoing war

Barakani thanked SDRPY, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Barakani also pointed out that the parliament is currently working through the executive authority to overcome the obstacles and difficulties facing the political situation amid the ongoing war launched by the Houthi terrorist militia.

He stressed that the legitimate government responded to all calls for peace; while the Houthi militia rejected all initiatives, including the Omani and Saudi initiatives.

"We will continue to seek peace, but at the same time; we will not give up confrontation, and the Houthis should know they will reach Marib. It is out of the question for Yemenis.

Marib contains hundreds of thousands of people; who escaped Houthi oppression and tyranny, and there are hundreds of thousands of residents; who reject the Houthi dynastic project, according to Barakani.

Ambassador Al Jaber also confirmed that he discussed with the Speaker his country's efforts to achieve peace and ceasefire; which Houthis continue to reject.

Houthis also insist on the military escalation in Marib and continue to exacerbate the suffering of Yemenis.

The ambassador also noted that the meeting addressed the importance of completing the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.
