Saudi King Welcomes President of Kyrgyzstan in Riyadh

King Salman bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh on Monday President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

Discussions focused on bilateral relations and opportunities to boost them in various fields.

They also tackled issues of common interest, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

King Salman threw a luncheon banquet in honor of his guest and his accompanying delegation.

President Sooronbay Jeenbekov of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan arrived Jeddah on Dec. 16 to perform Umrah rites as part of his current visit to the Kingdom.

Upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport, he was received by Prince Mishaal bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah and a number of officials.

Agreements and MoUs

Saudi King Salman and President of the Kyrgyz Republic witness the signing of six agreements and memoranda of understanding between the governments of the two countries

President Sooronbay Jeenbekov of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan received today at his residence in Makkah, the President of the Islamic Development Bank, Dr. Bandar Hajjar.

The Kyrgyz President praised the bank's effective roles in supporting his country's economy through its development programs.

He also expressed his aspiration to strengthen the partnership with the bank in order to face economic challenges, including the lack of job opportunities.

For his part, Dr. Hajjar also welcomed the initiative of the President of Kyrgyzstan to collaborate with the bank in various fields.

Afterwards, Dr. Hajjar pointed out that the total funds approved by the bank for Kyrgyzstan amounted to $341mn.

The bank is currently working on implementing large projects in the country in agricultural and infrastructure sectors.
