The United States of America and the United Kingdom have denounced the recent escalation of the Houthi militia in the Yemeni governorates of Taiz, Marib and Shabwah, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries. Yemen News Agency (saba) reported a statement by the U.S. Embassy in Yemen, in which the U.S. said: "We denounce Houthi’s recent escalation in Taiz and Marib, which resulted in killing people," stressing the necessity for the Houthis to stop exacerbating the suffering of the Yemeni people and support a peaceful solution to the conflict. In a separate statement, the British Embassy in Yemen stressed the need for the Houthis to stop their provocative actions and show a real commitment to peace in Yemen.
