The General Administration of Education in Jazan Region ranked second in the world at this year’s International Science Fair (TISF) competition held in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei.

As many as 54 students of both genders from 27 countries competed.

Ghala Turki Nafie Al-Mabadi, from the Fifth Secondary School in Jazan, won the silver medal for her outstanding research in the field of environmental engineering. It was part of several researches and innovations presented by the Saudi delegation.

Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jazan Region, congratulated the student, her family, and Jazan education department for this major national achievement that reflects the significant educational and scientific renaissance the Kingdom is witnessing due to the support of the wise leadership, and the quality programs that nurture and supports gifted and talented women, and that contribute to students’ winning many local, regional and international competitions.

Director General of Education in the Jazan region Malhi bin Hassan Aqdi said that Al-Mabadi’s winning the second place for the research she submitted in the field of environmental engineering, titled “Designing a New Prototype for a Hybrid Car Powered by Hydrogen”, was well deserved.
