Islamic Forum for Halal Accreditation Bodies Holds 1st Meeting in Makkah

The General Assembly of the Islamic Forum for Halal Accreditation Bodies (IFHAB) has held its first meeting in Makkah to discuss a number of items on the agenda, form the Executive Committee, and adopt the temporary statute of the forum. The meeting was attended by 24 national accreditation bodies from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

 The forum came at the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to become one of the institutions affiliated with and hosted and funded by the OIC; it aims to enhance mutual understanding and effective communication between accreditation bodies to support the halal industry at various levels.
