Deputizing for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Vice Foreign Minister Delivers Saudi Arabia’s Speech at 19th Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Kampala

Deputizing for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji delivered a speech today at the 19th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement in Kampala, Uganda.

At the beginning of the speech, El-Khereiji conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to the heads of state and government participating in the summit.

He also elaborated on the significant rise in global conflicts, undermining the sovereignty and stability of states, prompting collective efforts to achieve peace. He underscored the Kingdom's firm stance against the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the imperative of an immediate ceasefire, the delivery of relief aid, and the prevention of forced displacement of Gaza's inhabitants.

El-Khereiji further highlighted that the Palestinian question will persist on the agenda of numerous meetings until an independent Palestinian state is established on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Moreover, he addressed the escalating extreme climate conditions worldwide, citing the Kingdom's environmental initiatives. These include the Saudi and Middle East Green Initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.

The summit was attended by the Kingdom’s permanent representative to the United Nations in New York Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohamed Al-Wasel and Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Uganda Jamal bin Muhammad Al-Madani.
