The World Governments Summit 2025 was inaugurated today in Dubai, bringing together heads of state, government officials, decision-makers, and experts from around the world.

According to a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) General Secretariat press release, GCC Secretary General Jasem Albudaiwi highlighted during the summit’s opening that the event, themed "Shaping Future Governments," serves as a global platform for countries and coalitions to discuss key issues such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, the digital economy, and other topics, while proposing solutions to address current and future challenges.

Albudaiwi expressed pride in participating in the summit's activities through organizing two high-level sessions featuring several esteemed ministers of finance and economy from the GCC member states.

The release underlined that the first session will be titled "Structural Developments, Economic Diversity, and Their Impact on Sustainability in Light of the National Visions of the Member States," while the second session, coordinated with the UAE Ministry of Finance, will be titled "Enhancing Resilience: Designing the Future Economy of the GCC States Amid Regional and Global Challenges."

He noted that these contributions aim to strengthen the GCC General Secretariat's presence in regional and international forums, thereby enhancing the progress of the Cooperation Council.
