Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces resume talks in Jeddah

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomes resuming talks between representatives of the Sudanese Armed Forces and representatives of the Rapid Support Forces in Jeddah, facilitated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America in partnership with a joint representative of each of the African Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

 In this context, the Kingdom urges the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces to resume what was agreed on between them in Jeddah Declaration "Commitment to Protect the Civilians of Sudan" on May 11, 2023 and the short-term ceasefire agreement signed by the parties in Jeddah on May 20, 2023.

 The Kingdom affirms its keenness on unity, the importance of prevailing wisdom, halting the conflict, stopping bloodshed and alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people, and in support of the end of the crisis in Sudan in order to achieve a political agreement to realize security, stability and prosperity for Sudan and its people.
