The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomed the decision made by Sudanese Sovereign Council President and Armed Forces Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan to assign the Humanitarian Aid Commission to open the Adre crossing for delivering humanitarian assistance to the city of Al-Fasher in light of the deteriorating humanitarian situation.

The Kingdom commended the decision as positive step in addressing humanitarian needs, facilitating the delivery of aid, and ensuring the safety of humanitarian workers.

The Saudi delegation to the Geneva Conference held discussions with the UN secretary-general’s special envoy and the African Union representative to discuss providing emergency assistance through a joint mechanism.
