The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the launch of the second phase of the comprehensive peace plan in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the announcement of the formation of the Palestinian Committee to manage the Gaza Strip as a temporary transitional body.

The secretariat underscored the importance of maintaining geographical and institutional unity between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including the occupied city of Jerusalem.

It also emphasized the need to pressure the Israeli occupation to halt all acts and policies undermining the two-state solution, including annexation, settlement expansion, the Judaization of Jerusalem, and forced displacement, and to release Palestinian tax funds that are being illegally withheld.

It further emphasized the need to enable the Palestinian government to exercise authority over all Palestinian lands, leading to the end of the Israeli occupation of territories seized in 1967 and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
