The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) denounced in a press release issued today the Israeli occupation's approval of the construction of approximately 3,500 new settlement units.

This move is a continuation of the Israeli colonial settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territory, the release said.

OIC reaffirmed that Israeli settlements are invalid, illegitimate, and illegal according to international law, the Geneva Conventions, and relevant United Nations resolutions, notably UN Security Council Resolution No. 2334.

Calling upon the international community, OIC urged all nations to fulfill their responsibilities in putting an immediate end to the numerous crimes and violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces across the occupied Palestinian territory, including the city of Jerusalem.
