Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit warned of the severe consequences of Israel's expansion of its ground offensive in Gaza, describing it as a dangerous escalation in the ongoing genocide Israel has been carrying out in Gaza for the past two years.

In a statement released yesterday, Aboul Gheit condemned in the strongest terms Israel’s blatant efforts to forcefully expel Palestinians from Gaza under the threat of death or starvation. He described these actions as part of a displacement strategy rejected by both Arab nations and the international community, and a clear violation of international law.

The secretary-general emphasized that Israel’s military operations in Gaza reflect an unprecedented level of recklessness and disregard for human life.

Aboul Gheit also decried the international community’s failure to intervene and curb Israel’s aggression, warning that the world would ultimately bear the consequences of this inaction.

He accused the Israeli leadership of fostering an unchecked desire to spill Palestinian blood and to forcefully displace Palestinians, making Gaza uninhabitable in the process.

The secretary-general expressed support for the findings of the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, which confirmed Israel has committed acts of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Aboul Gheit stressed that these findings must compel the international community to act, holding Israel’s leaders accountable for war crimes and working urgently to halt the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which continues to unfold before the world's eyes.
