Houthis Continue to Violate Stockholm Agreement

The Saudi-led Arab coalition announced on Monday that its air forces will continue to back the Yemeni army. Besides, thwarting attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi militias as battles rage in Yemen's Marib province.

The coalition destroyed an explosive-laden boat; prepared by the Houthis to use in an imminent attack off the coast of the Hodeidah province, it said on Monday.

The coalition accused the Houthis of violating the Stockholm Agreement by continuing to plan such attacks.

Such behavior continues to pose a threat to navigation and international trade routes in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and southern Red Sea region.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia's air defenses intercepted an explosive drone launched by the Houthis towards Khamis Mushait. The latest attack comes days after Saudi air defenses intercepted a Houthi drone headed for Abha International airport.

The Arab coalition said last Thursday it had killed 115 Houthis in 24 hours in air raids near Marib; the final northern stronghold of pro-government forces.

Air strikes carried out by the coalition in recent weeks have inflicted human and material losses on the Houthi militias; with estimates indicating the killing of at least 3,000 terrorists in the last six weeks.

Literal implementation of Iranian orders

Most raids took place over separate areas of Marib, Al-Bayda and Al-Jawf.

Meanwhile, Yemeni Information Minister Moammar Al-Eryani considered the repeated attempts; by the Houthi militia to launch terrorist attacks against commercial vessels and oil tankers on international shipping lines in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab to be "the literal implementation of Iranian orders."

"The continuation of these failed attempts confirms once again that the coup militias are exploiting the Stockholm Agreement," tweeted the minister.

"The extension of Houthi control over the ports of Hodeidah is to plan, prepare and implement their terrorist activities. Besides, destabilizing regional and international peace and security, and threaten the interests of the whole world," he added.
