His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister; and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City; chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City.

During the meeting, the Council got a brief on the Riyadh 2030 strategy; and assured of the completeness of its features.

The Crown Prince directed the completion of work on the implementation plans for the strategy; and that all relevant government agencies and institutions operating at the level of the Kingdom; at the level of Riyadh work with the Royal Commission for Riyadh to detail the initiatives; projects related to them in the required form; and to determine budgets and responsibilities in order to ensure the integrated governance of the implementation strategy for launch.

It is noteworthy that the Crown Prince spoke at the Future Investment Initiative in January of this year about the objectives of Riyadh's strategy; and its quest to transform the Kingdom's capital into one of the world's ten largest economies; doubling its population to 15-20 million people, and receiving more than forty million visitors by 2030.

The largest purchasing power in the Middle East

In his speech, the Crown Prince also referred to the competitive advantages that Riyadh has as the largest purchasing power in the Middle East; and the fact that it has a wonderful infrastructure; in addition to being one of the pillars of economic growth in the Kingdom due to its huge economic size and influence.

The strategy also reviewed by the council includes six main pillars: economic growth in various sectors; developing national cadres and attracting the best international talent; improving the quality of life; urban spatial planning at a global level; prudent governance of the city's capabilities and resources; developing a global identity for the city that enhances the capital's global role by the economic, political and cultural aspect; in addition to enhancing its competitiveness.

This strategy will be implemented through 26 sectoral programs that include more than 100 quality initiatives and more than 700 pilot projects in various sectors and throughout the city, making the capital Riyadh one of the best global cities.

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City will supervise the implementation of the Riyadh strategy by following up and measuring more than 50 performance indicators derived from benchmarks with the best cities in the world.
