KSrelief Launches Campaign to Combat Anopheles Mosquitoes in Hodeidah, Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), in cooperation with Yemen's National Malaria Control Program and the Yemeni Ministry of Health office, has launched a campaign to combat the Anopheles mosquitoes, which transmit malaria and cause viral fevers, in the western Hodeidah Governorate, Yemen.

Director of the National Malaria Control Program Dr. Abdulkareem Al-Qadimi said that the campaign aims to eradicate mosquitos, which become active in certain seasons and spread diseases.

He added that some 100 laboratory technicians will take part in the campaign, working to sanitize mosquito-breeding locations, raise awareness among people, and resort to mosquito fogging in and around houses in residential neighborhoods and in camps for displaced people.

Al-Qadimi commended the humanitarian role played by KSrelief in combating diseases and lending support to the health sector in Yemen, which, he said, contributes to alleviating the suffering of the people.
