Arab Parliament Calls for Collaboration in Humanitarian Work

Arab Parliament Speaker Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi has called for unified efforts in carrying out humanitarian work in view of the difficult and exceptional circumstances many countries are facing.

He also highlighted the respected and highly regarded role of humanitarian efforts in the Arab world, efforts that are acknowledged and appreciated at various regional and international levels.

In a statement made on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, observed annually on August 19, Al-Asoumi stressed that humanitarian work is a fundamental pillar that supports the security and stability of societies, and helps them achieve sustainable development.

He also pointed out that humanitarian work in Gaza Strip is under threat, due to the undermining of UNRWA's role, which is crucial in the region's humanitarian response efforts.

He called for pooling all humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering and pain of the Palestinian people living under the oppression of the Israeli occupation.
