Like anyprofessional League in Europe, there are 16 teams competing on the Saudi leaguetitle with four teams always compete on the first four places.

The SaudiProfessional League is the top division of Association football league in SaudiArabia and it was known as the Abdul Latif Jameel League, or Dawry Jameel, asit was sponsored by Abdul Latif Jameel for six years.

The titleholders and most champions in the kingdom is Al-Hilal, who achieved thetournament's title for 15 times, while the runner-up is Al-Ittihad of Jeddahwith eight titles.

Al-Hilal (founded on 16 October 1957)

Al-Hilal is aSaudi Arabian professional multi-sports club based in Riyadh, the firstfootball team of the club is title holder of the Saudi Professional League witha blue t-shirt.

The Riyadhbased club was founded on 16 October 1957, it is one of four teams to haveparticipated in all seasons of the Saudi Professional League since itsestablishment in 1976.

Al-Shabab (found in 1947)

Al-Shabab FCis a Saudi Arabian professional football club based in Riyadh, was founded in1947 and was previously named "Shabab Al Riyadh" but later in 1967 was named AlShabab.

Al Shabab clubhas produced prominent players such as Saeed Al-Owairan who scored the crucialgoal for Saudi Arabia against Belgium in the 1994 World Cup alongside FuadAmin, who scored Saudi Arabia's first World Cup goal against Netherlands.

Al-Shabab achivedmore records including the first Saudi team to win three Saudi Premier Leaguein a row (1991, 1992, and 1993), first Saudi team to win the professional andnew Saudi Premier League, in 1991.

Al-Shababfootball team are also the only club in the world to play two games in one day,in 1999 in the afternoon in the Arab Elite Cup final and at night in the CrownPrince Cup final against Al-Hilal.

This was dueto bad planning by the Saudi FA, in which Al Shabab decided to use two teams,one in Syria to play the Arab tournament's final, and another composed of thestarting players in Riyadh to play the Crown Prince Cup final against Al-Hilal,in which they lost the Arabic final, but won the Crown Prince Cup.

Al-Taawon (founded in 1956)

Al-Taawoun isa professional football club based in Buraidah, that plays in the SaudiProfessional League, the top tier of Saudi Football.

Al-Taawounreached the King's Cup final in 1990, finishing runners-up to Al-Nassr.

Their bestever top flight season came in 2015–16 when the club successfully challengedfor the Asian Champions League spots, eventually finishing in fourth place inthe top division, their highest league position to date.

Al-Ahli (founded 17 March 1937)

Al-Ahli is aSaudi Arabian professional football club based in Jeddah competes in the SaudiProfessional League, the top flight of Saudi Arabian football.

Domestically,Al-Ahli have won 3 league titles, 13 King Cups, 6 Crown Prince Cups, 5 PrinceFaisal bin Fahd Cups and 1 Super Cup.

Ininternational club football, Al-Ahli have won 3 GCC Champions League and 1 ArabClub Championship and have reached two AFC Champions League finals. The firstSaudi club combined the league and the King's Cup in the same season in 1968,the only club that did it 3 times 1968,1978,2016.

Al-Ahli is oneof the four founding members of the Saudi Pro League that have never beenrelegated from the top flight, along with Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Nassr.

Al-Ahli have arecord-breaking 51-match unbeaten run from 2014-2016.

Al-Faisaly FC (founded in 1954)

Al-Faisaly FCis a Saudi Arabian football team based in Harmah City, playing in the firstlevel. The club's name comes in the name of King Faisal; he was crown prince atthe time of the club's founding.

Al-Faisaly,who was founded in 1954, achieved the Saudi 1st division league title in2009-10 season as well as winning the title of Prince Faisal bin Fahd Cup forDivision 1 and 2 Teams.

They alsofinished the King's Cup tournament in 2018 as the runners-up.

Al-Raed FC (founded in 1954)

Al-Raed is a Saudifootball team based in Buraidah, and the first ever football team in the Qassimregion of Saudi Arabia.

Al-Raed FC isone of the club's notable founders is Abdulaziz Al-Obodi, established in 1954,Al-Raed currently play in the Pro League and have been playing there since2008.

The team wasable to qualify for the Saudi Premier League, in 1980–1981. In 1986 Al-Raed wasthe first team from the Qassim region to enter the Saudi Premier League.

Al-Qadsiah FC (founded in 1967)

Al-Qadsiah,who was named after Quds Arabic name of Jerusalem, is a Saudi Arabian footballteam that plays in the Saudi Professional League. They are based in Khobar andtheir home ground is the Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium.

They achievedthe Crown Prince Cup title in 1991-92 and finished as the runners-up in2004-05.

Al-Qadsiahalso won the Asian Cup title in 1993-94 season after beating South China 6-2 onaggregate.

Al-Hazem FC (founded in 1957)

Al-Hazem FC isa Saudi Arabian football club plays in the Prince Mohammad bin Salman League,the second tier of Saudi football.

Al-Hazem, whowas founded in 1957, have won the Saudi 3rd division once in the 1997–98season, and have finished runners-up once in the Saudi Second Division once inthe 1999–00 season.

The club havewon the Saudi First Division once in the 2004–05 season and won their firstpromotion to the Pro League.

On 25 March2011, Al-Batin won their first promotion to Saudi First Division. They playtheir home matches at the Al-Batin Club Stadium.

Al-Ittihad Jeddah (founded in 1927)

Al-Ittihad isa Saudi Premier League football club based in Jeddah. They won 8 League titlesand also holds 48 official championship wins, three of them being Asianchampionships.

The club wasfounded on January 4, 1927 before the third Saudi state was declared, making itthe oldest club in Saudi Arabia.

The mostsuccessful period in Al-Ittihad's history was the 1990s and mid 2000s, when theclub won numerous honors both domestically and continental.

The team wonCup Winners Cup in 1999 and two Champions League titles in 2004 and 2005 and asfar as going on to compete in the 2005 FIFA Club World Cup. The club has thedistinction of being the only Asian club to have won the AFC Champions Leaguetwice in a row.

Al-Fayha FC isa professional football club based in Al Majma'ah, plays in the SaudiProfessional League, the top tier of Saudi Football.

Al-Fayha, whoIt was founded in 1954, have won the Saudi Second Division once in the 2013–14season and have finished runners-up once in the 2003–04.

On 29 April2017, Al-Feiha won their first promotion to the Pro League and on 5 May 2017won their first ever First Division title.

The club playtheir home games at King Salman Sport City Stadium in Al Majma'ah, sharing thestadium with city rivals Al-Faisaly and Al-Mujazzel.

Uhud FC (founded in 1936)

Ohod is aSaudi Arabian professional football club based in Medina, competes in the ProLeague, the top tier of Saudi football.

Uhud was namedafter famous Mount Uhud, hence the nickname "Al-Jabal".

Uhud have wonthe Saudi First Division three times and have finished runners-up five times.They play their home games at the Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Stadium.

During the1994 FIFA World Cup two players from Uhud were selected for the Saudi Arabianational team and Cameroon national team, respectively, Hamzah Idris and ThomasLibiih.

Uhud are 16th in the Saudi Professional league teams' table with 15 points after playing 23 games so far this season.
