In last July, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) oversaw handling 23 million tons of cargo in Saudi ports. The number of containers exported and imported reached 638 thousand containers, with an increase of 11.15%, compared with the same period last year.

According to the statistical index issued by the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI), the number of ships received by the Saudi ports during the same month reached 1,123 vessels, more than 129 thousand passengers, while the number of vehicles reached 66 thousand vehicles and 1.1 million heads of livestock.

The Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) seeks to support and facilitate the import and export sectors as well as the logistics sector in Saudi Arabia and make it more streamlined, flexible, and competitive, as part of its plans and objectives to enhance the services of Saudi ports, and raise the level of performance, productivity and operational and logistical capabilities, in order to achieve the objectives of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program, which is one of the realization program of Saudi vision 2030.

It is noteworthy that MAWANI is responsible for organizing the management of Saudi ports and overseeing their operation and development, to serve in the establishment of various development projects that contribute to achieving the added value of the national economy, and strengthening the environment of investment and trade in Saudi Arabia.
