Makkah Eagles, ARM United lead group tables in Ace Travel Saudi Cup

Makkah Eagles (13 points) and ARM United (12 points) lead their respective Group A and B at the end of Week 9 of the Ace Travel Saudi Cup; which is sponsored by Ace Travel & Tours. Jeddah Cricket Association also organizes it under the auspices of Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation.

Aces, ARM United, Deccan Knights and Jeddah Gladiators raced to exciting wins over their respective opponents. Six teams: 3 each from Group A — Makkah Eagles, Deccan Knights, Butt Sports — as wel ass Group B – ARM United, ICAD and Center Systems — have already qualified, remaining teams — Aces, Usfaan, Kashmir Stags, from Group A and Jeddah Gladiators and Royal Jurana from Group B will be vying with each other in Week 10 to fill the remaining 2 slots to complete quarterfinals line-up.

Impressive spell

Superb aggressive knock by Usman (76) and fine bowling by Bilal Khan (4 for 8) and Amir (3 for 25), gave Aces 39 runs win over Kashmir Stags to keep their chances alive for the knock-out, despite Danish (63) knock ending up on losing side. Atta Mughal impressive spell of 5 wickets for 25 runs gave ARM United a solid 7 wicket win over Royal Jurana. So, it tops Group B with 12 points, despite Ijaz (72) fighting knock ending in vain.

Najeeb (47) patient knock along with Haider (3 for 24) and Usman (2 for 17) fiery spell gave Deccan Knights an exciting 11 runs win over Butt Sport in a low scoring match. Jeddah Gladiators consigned table leaders ICAD to 2nd position in Group B bundling them for paltry 115 runs with Shahnawaz (3 for 26) spell of good bowling and then raced to 117 for 4 to win by 6 wickets with 6 overs to spare to increase their chances of taking a shot at the qualifiers if they win their last week match.

Aces beat Kashmir Stags by 39 runs

ACES 222 for 5 20 overs Usman 76 (26b), Adil 47, Ahmed 2 for 39. Kashmir Stags 183 all out Danish 63 (41b), Sajid 48, Bilal Khan 4 for 8, Amir 3 for 25.

ARM United beat Royal Jurana by 7 wickets

Royal Jurana 162 for 9 18 overs Ijaz 72 (43b), Atta Mughal 5 for 25. ARM United 163 for 3 16.2 overs Moeed 80 (42b); Hafeez 32NO; Najam 24; as well as Rouf 2 for 29.

Deccan Knights beat Butt Sports by 11 runs

Deccan knights 139 for 9 18 overs Najeeb 47, Hasnain 3 for 29, Yasir 3 for 31. Butt Sports 128 for 6 18 overs Samar 43, Abdul Rehman 23, Haider 3 for 24, Usman 2 for 17.

Jeddah Gladiators beat ICAD by 6 wickets

ICAD 115 all out Mohsin 28, Shahnawaz 3 for 26. Jeddah Gladiators 117 for 4 13.5 overs Moon Shah 34.

Abeer Medical Center conducts medical tests of players at JCA grounds

Last week Abeer Medical Center led by Mir Ghazanfar Ali Zaki and his team of doctors carried out medical tests free of cost on JCA team players at JCA Grounds in Usfan. Tests included sugar level, blood pressure, weight, height, body mass index (BMI) and provided medical cards to all players for free consultation at Abeer clinics in the city. Abeer Medical Center provides this service. It comes as part of its CSR towards sporting community in general and cricket activities of JCA in particular.

JCA management is also grateful to Abeer Medical Center and its management for sending their medical team to take these tests. Players, observing COVID protocols, had their tests done. They are looking forward to consult with the doctors at Abeer Medical Center to stay healthy. Abeer management were thankful to JCA for giving them an opportunity to provide such medical facilities. This comes as part of its community serving responsibilities.
