Theater and Performing Arts Commission concludes cultural events in Unaizah

The Theater and Performing Arts Commission has concluded the first stage of its program accompanying the Ibrahim Al-Qadi Research Chair project in Unaizah, organizing a panel discussion and a training workshop as part of its efforts to enrich scientific research and knowledge in the fields of theater and performing arts.

The program began with a panel discussion titled "Najdi Families in India: Ibrahim Al-Qadi as a Model for Cultural Exchange," which explored the early life of Ibrahim Al-Qadi, the presence of Najdi families in India, and their role in fostering cultural ties between the two countries. The session also highlighted the roots that shaped the experience of one of the Arab world’s leading theater pioneers.

The commission also organized a three-day training workshop on "Playwriting," aimed at developing participants’ skills in writing theatrical scripts through a program combining theoretical and practical aspects. The workshop covered the fundamental concepts of playwriting techniques, included hands-on exercises, experimental writing sessions, and critical discussions, all designed to enhance participants’ creative abilities using modern scientific and artistic approaches.

The commission stated that the program accompanying the Ibrahim Al-Qadi Research Chair project will feature a series of specialized seminars and workshops to be held in several cities across the Kingdom in the coming period. These efforts aim to support scientific research in theater and performing arts, strengthen international cultural partnerships, and enrich the theatrical scene both intellectually and creatively, contributing to the development of the theater sector in Saudi Arabia and boosting its international presence.
