SDAIA Propels Saudi Arabia to Forefront of Global Data & AI Indicators

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has made significant strides in positioning Saudi Arabia as a global leader in the field of data and artificial intelligence (AI).

This is reflected by the Kingdom securing the top spot in the Global AI Index for government strategy and ranking second worldwide for societal awareness of AI, according to the AI Index Report 2023 by Stanford University.

The Tawakkalna Application, overseen by SDAIA, was honored with the United Nations Public Service Award 2022 for its resilience and innovative response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

These achievements serve as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s technological and digital prowess on the global stage.

SDAIA’s unwavering commitment to leading the national data and AI agenda since its establishment in 2019 has played a pivotal role in this success, with full support and guidance from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and chairman of SDAIA’s Board of Directors.

These intensified efforts by SDAIA contributed to elevating the Kingdom to a leading position in data and AI-based economies.

Backed by its professional performance, SDAIA has earned numerous international accolades, including four global excellence certifications from ICMG for technological architecture, an excellence certification in access to information and knowledge, and Data Center Tier 3 classification for the National Information Center.

Furthermore, SDAIA obtained Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 5 Certification in software development and the third maturity level certification in service delivery.

The authority recently secured three ISO certifications for integrated management systems: ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 22301 certification for business continuity management.

In addition to these accomplishments, the Ehsan platform, under SDAIA’s supervision, was awarded the Digital Government Award for Best Digital Service, honoring its Tyassarat service.

The platform has also secured a place in the Guinness World Records for achieving the highest number of individual donations for a campaign on a single online platform within 24 hours.

Furthermore, SDAIA’s efforts in driving the digital transformation of smart cities in collaboration with various government entities have led to five Saudi cities being featured in the 2024 IMD Smart City Index, published by the International Institute for Management Development.
