The New Global Sports Conference 2024 (NGSC) will kick off today in Riyadh. The two-day event will host over 60 international speakers and more than 1,200 entrepreneurs and experts, including over 200 top global chief executives from sectors such as esports, sports, technology, entertainment, business, and investment.
The second edition of the conference titled, "The Future of Fan Culture," will discuss the latest trends and strategies in sports and esports, with a focus on enhancing fan engagement and building passionate global communities, as over 3.4 billion people are engaging in gaming worldwide and there are approximately 234 million esports players, reshaping traditional sectors and driving change in strategic planning, investment, broadcasting rights, sponsorships, marketing, event management, and more.
The NGSC provides a unique platform for leaders and pioneers in esports, gaming, business, and entertainment to explore this year's theme. The conference will examine the key role of fans in the development of sports and gaming sectors, highlighting their profound impact on business strategies, content creation, intellectual property, media rights, marketing, and community building.
The conference also aims to solidify Riyadh's status as a global hub for esports, gaming, sports, and entertainment, which is one of the key objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.
The inaugural edition of the conference, held last year, introduced the Esports World Cup, which is currently ongoing in Riyadh until August 25.
Last year's conference also established the Esports World Cup Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering collaboration within the esports community and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the sector.
