The Eastern Province Municipality, represented by Al-Bayda Municipality, has prepared the desert park to welcome the winter season and outdoor excursions. The park covers a total area of approximately 6 million square meters and includes 680 designated camping sites, as part of efforts to organize desert locations, enhance their readiness, and provide a safe and suitable environment for visitors.

These preparations are being carried out in line with directives from Eastern Province Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, and under the supervision of Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, to provide necessary services for citizens and residents during the recreation season and to prepare desert sites to receive them, in accordance with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing’s guidelines.

Eastern Province Municipality spokesperson Faisal bin Saeed Al-Zahrani explained that these preparations are part of ongoing efforts to develop desert parks, improve municipal services offered there, and organize the use of these sites during the winter to meet the needs of families and visitors.

He added that field preparations include readying access roads to the camping sites, intensifying cleaning and site maintenance, organizing camp locations, and reducing random camping. Coordination with relevant authorities is also underway to enhance safety and raise operational readiness for visitors.

Al-Zahrani noted that the preparations also include allocating areas for local producers and food truck owners, enabling them to offer their products and services to park visitors, which supports local economic activity and provides a variety of options for guests.

He stated that applications for seasonal camping permits have opened via the Eastern Province Municipality’s website (www.eamana.gov.sa). Individuals can apply through the personal services section and then the camping service, with the ability to track applications online. After completing the process, applicants should visit the municipality office at the desert park to receive their designated site according to the approved procedures.

Al-Zahrani emphasized the importance of visitors adhering to camping regulations and guidelines, maintaining the cleanliness of sites and the natural environment, cooperating with field teams, and using facilities responsibly to prevent random practices and ensure the park’s sustainability as a natural retreat for families and visitors.
