The mountains and plains in Belhamer, Bayhan, and Balsamer north of the city of Abha have transformed into captivating white landscapes due to the falling of hail and moderate to heavy rains on most of the heights in the Asir region.
Heavy rains accompanied by large amounts of hail continue in different parts of the Asir region due to the transformation of the Intertropical Convergence Zone and the circulation of the monsoon winds and their interaction with the topography of the region.
This contributed to heavy rainfall and irrigation of the land with water, which promises an attractive tourist season and the abundance of crops and various agricultural products that the region is famous for, especially wheat product that characterizes the southern highlands.
According to the National Center of Meteorology early-warning system, opportunities are still ripe for thunderstorms to form over most governorates of the Asir region, accompanied by strong winds, a lack of horizontal visibility, and the falling of hail during the coming days.
