Riyadh Green program launches tree-planting and cleanup at Umm Qasr valley

The Riyadh Green program, overseen by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, has launched a tree-planting and cleanup campaign at Umm Qasr valley to coincide with Saudi National Day, under the slogan "We plant trees, we build a green nation."

The campaign will take place on September 23, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and is open to all volunteers from the community. Participants will receive volunteer certificates in recognition of their active contribution to environmental service.

The initiative aims to attract volunteers to take part in tree planting and cleaning activities, promoting community engagement and a culture of volunteerism, while supporting national efforts to protect and sustain the environment.

Umm Qasr valley is located in the Al-Oraija Al-Wusta district of Riyadh and is one of the natural tributaries of Wadi Hanifa. The area has undergone a significant transformation thanks to rehabilitation and development projects carried out under the Riyadh Green initiatives, following the highest environmental and engineering standards. These efforts have helped restore its natural state, enrich the urban landscape, and create an integrated environment for residents to enjoy sports and recreational activities.
