King Salman fires top officers linked to defense ministry over corruption charges

King Salman issued a royal order late Monday, sacking high-ranking officials, including Commander of the Joint Forces Fahd Bin Turki Bin Abdulaziz and the Deputy Prince of Al-Jouf region Abdulaziz Bin Fahad Bin Turki Bin Abdulaziz, over corruption charges.

All of them have been relieved of their duties and their corruption cases linked to the Ministry of Defense have been referred to Saudi Arabia's Control and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha).

Lt. Gen. Mutlaq Bin Salem bin Mutlaq Al-Azima; the deputy chief of the General Staff, also to carry out the work of the joint forces commander.

Other officials whose cases have been referred to Nazaha are the following: Yusuf Bin Rakan Bin Hindi Al-Otaibi; Muhammad Bin Abdul Karim Bin Muhammad Al-Hassan; Faisal Bin Abdulrahman Bin Muhammad Al-Ajlan; as well as Muhammad Bin Ali Bin Muhammad Al-Khalifa.
