King Salman Chairs Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet Session at Al-Yamamah Palace

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session held at Al-Yamamah Palace on Tuesday.

At theoutset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques welcomed theMinister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Transport to the Cabinet, wishingthem success.

Then, TheKing briefed the Cabinet on the results of his talks with President Ueli Maurerof the Swiss Confederation, reviewing opportunities for cooperation between theKingdom of Saudi Arabia and Switzerland, means of enhancing and developingrelations between the two countries in various fields.

TheCustodian of the Two Holy Mosques also briefed the Cabinet on the results ofhis receptions of King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom ofJordan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the Republic of India, reviewingcooperation with the Kingdom and regional and international developments, aswell as the contents of the message received from Sheikh Sabah Al-AhmadAl-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the state of Kuwait.

The Cabinetexpressed appreciation for the patronage by the Custodian of the Two HolyMosques for the third edition of the Future Investment Initiative 2019, whichwill host this year some of the world's most prestigious figures and decisionmakers, and major investors and international experts, to discover the futureof the business world through trends and economic opportunities, prospectingfuture industries, and contributing to the outlook for the future of the globalinvestment, according to the programs of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

Minister ofMedia Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah said, following the session, in a statementto the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet reviewed the report from theNational Competitiveness Center (TAYSEER) containing the results of the WorldBank Doing Business 2020 report ranking the Kingdom as the first country in theworld in the number of reforms achieved, and the most progress among the (190)countries measured in the report.

The Cabinetappreciated the role of government agencies involved in the implementation ofeconomic reforms as well as the contribution of the private sector, whichenhances the competitiveness of the Kingdom to be among the most competitivecountries in the world. It also appreciated the emphasis by the Custodian ofthe Two Holy Mosques on the importance of continuing cooperation among allbodies, exerting more efforts to improve the business environment in line withthe goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and his stressing on the importance ofcooperation of all government agencies in reaching desired goals in providingthe best government services for citizens.
