TheCustodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired theCabinet's session held at Al-Yamamah Palace here today.

Atthe outset of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed theCabinet on official talks with Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis andthe content of the telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin citingcoordination of efforts between the Kingdom and Russia in order to achieve thestability of the oil market to serve global economic growth. The King alsobriefed the Cabinet on the telephone call with President Mahmoud Abbas of theState of Palestine citing the assertion of the Kingdom's steadfast stance onthe Palestinian cause, the rights of the Palestinian people, supporting theiroptions and fulfilling their hopes.

TheMinister of Media, Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah, pointed out in a statementto the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Cabinet reaffirmed theKingdom's support for the efforts to reach a just and comprehensive solution tothe Palestinian cause. The Cabinet noted great and pioneering efforts made bythe Kingdom in supporting the brotherly Palestinian people and standing bytheir side in all international forums, including the Kingdom's presentation ofthe 2002 Arab Peace Initiative. It also expressed appreciation for the effortsof the American administration to develop a comprehensive peace plan betweenthe two sides.

TheCabinet affirmed that the Kingdom's support for efforts to advance negotiationsconfirms that the success of these efforts requires that their ultimate goal isto achieve a just and lasting solution that guarantees the legitimate rights ofthe Palestinian people.

TheCabinet reviewed the unanimous decision of the Arab League Emergency Meeting ofForeign Ministers and the final statement of the Extraordinary Open-endedExecutive Committee Meeting at the Level of Foreign Ministers of theOrganization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States. They emphasized thecentrality of the Palestinian cause to the Arab and Islamic nation, the need toadhere to the peace process as a strategic option for the conflict, based onthe two-state solution, in accordance with international legitimacyresolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative and adopted international references.

TheCabinet reviewed the (Ouagadougou Declaration) issued at the end of the 15thConference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of IslamicCooperation Member States (PUIC) in Burkina Faso, citing affirmation of itsadherence to the basic principles of the OIC, the continuation of positive andeffective contributions to the development of the work of the United Nations andits specialized agencies, including establishing world peace and regionalsecurity, and rejection of all extremist ideas and terrorist acts that targetmany Islamic and non-Islamic countries.
