Khashoggi’s case is a pure Saudi matter, Djibouti ambassador to Riyadh

The Dean of DiplomaticCorps and Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to the Kingdom of SaudiArabia Dya-Eddin Said Bamakhrama has confirmed the integrity of the judiciaryin the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after the rulings issued on the case oflate citizen Jamal Khashoggi.

He said in a statementthat the rulings issued in the case of Jamal Khashoggi confirm the integrity ofthe judiciary in the Kingdom, and that the declared position of his familyafter the judgments is the best proof of that, and thus we confirm that thiscase is a purely Saudi, and the interference of others in this matter is futileand inappropriate.

Five ofthe 11 on trial have been sentenced to death over the murder of Saudijournalist Jamal Khashoggi; three others sentenced to varying prison terms andthe remaining three were acquitted.  Afterwards the Public Prosecutionstated that the investigation and due process were concluded and, thosesentenced could appeal the Riyadh criminal court's ruling.


Legal experts said that Saudi Arabia's judicial procedureswere conducted with full transparency and in full view of international representatives. 


"Delegates from the embassies of the five permanent membersof the (UN) Security Council (China, France, Russia, the UK, and the US) inaddition to a representative from the Turkish embassy, attended the sessionsheld in the murder trial," said Shaalan Al-Shaalan, spokesperson for theProsecutor General.
