Islamic World Heritage Committee Holds Extraordinary Virtual Session

The Islamic World Heritage Committee has held its 2nd extraordinary virtual session at the invitation of the Islamic World Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO).

During the session, the Committee studied ways to protect, preserve, rehabilitate and take care of heritage in the Islamic world in light of the outbreak of the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic that has affected a number of vital sectors including cultural institutions, heritage and tourist sites.

The Committee welcomed in its statement the establishment of the Heritage Center in the Islamic World, approved its draft organizational structure and committed to support its activities, programs and projects.
