Iraqi PM Visit Postponed after Hospitalizing King Salman

The visit of Iraqi PM Mustafa al-Kadhimi to Saudi Arabia postponed; after the hospitalization of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Saudi foreign minister said on Monday.

"In recognition of the importance of the visit and a desire to make it succeed; our wise leadership in coordination with our brothers in Iraq decided to postpone the visit," Prince Faisal bin Abdullah tweeted.

He added that Saudi Arabia appreciates Kadhimi's decision to travel to the Kingdom; in his first overseas visit since his appointment to his position.

Saudi-Iraqi relations are developing in a manner that reflects their shared history and the future that awaits them, he also stated.

Despite the postponement of the PM's visit; the Saudi-Iraqi coordination council will continue and efforts will continue to achieve the desired political, economic, and development goals, he remarked.
