Human Rights Commission boss Reviews Saudi Arabia's Human Rights Efforts with EU Representative

President of Human Rights Commission (HRC) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Alawwad, held a meeting on Thursday with the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, Eamon Gilmore.

During the meeting, Dr. Alawwad reviewed withGilmore, the Kingdom's efforts to support human rights and empower women.

He also cited the reforms being witnessed bythe Kingdom in this area according to the directives of the Custodian of theTwo Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness theCrown Prince to reform all state facilities, particularly human rights, where60 decisions were issued in all aspects of human rights, including 22 dedicatedfor women's empowerment.

He stressed that the Kingdom is achievingqualitative leaps in the field of human rights and is tirelessly working toachieve sustainable development, the rule of law, justice and equality.

For his part, Gilmore praised the positivedevelopments and reforms being witnessed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,especially in the areas of human rights and women's empowerment, lookingforward to visiting the Kingdom and continuing exchange of experiences andknowledge between the Kingdom and EU.
