Forbes magazine has published a new ranking for the world's fastest trains. This year, the list included the entry of two new trains in the Arab region. According to the French-language newspaper "bladi", the list included the Haramain High Speed Rail linking Medina to Makkah and Morocco's high-speed rail.

According to Forbes, the Haramain High Speed Rail was included in the list with a speed of 300 kilometers per hour with the Morocco's high-speed rail linking the northern city of Tangier and the city of Casablanca, with a speed of 232 kilometers per hour.

On the topof the list is the Chinese rail connecting the capital Beijing and the city ofNanjing as the fastest railway in the world with a speed of 317 kilometers perhour.

On the secondplace is the fast train linking Milan to Reggio Emilia in Italy, with a speedof 272 kilometers per hour. In third place, the French train connectingChampaign Arden and Lorraine with 271 kilometers per hour.

Japan comes in the fourth place with a speed of 268 kilometers per hour, followed by Spain train with a speed of 259 kilometers per hour, Taiwan train with a speed of 256 kilometers per hour, Germany train with a speed of 238 kilometers per hour, Morocco train with a speed of 232 kilometers per hour,  Belgium-France international train with a speed of 229

kilometers per hour, South Korea train with a speed of 222 kilometers per hour, Turkey train with a speed of 208 kilometers per hour, Russia train with a speed of 201 kilometers per hour, The United Kingdom train with a speed of 179 kilometers per hour and Austria train with a speed of 176 kilometers per hour.

In October 2018, the first official commercial ride of the Haramain High Speed Rail between Medina and Makkah were launched. In late September, King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz, inaugurated the express train in a new boom in transport in Saudi Arabia.

HaramainHigh Speed Rail is an electrified line that includes five stations; two inMecca and Medina, one in King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh, one at Jeddah'sKing Abdulaziz International Airport and one in the heart of Jeddah.

The Haramain High Speed Rail, the largest in Saudi Arabia and the largest in the Middle East, is marked by a design inspired by the features of Mecca and Medina and their unique Islamic architecture, and the length of the train line is 450 kilometers.

The Haramain High Speed Rail is a crucial component of the development plan and the expansion program of the Saudi railway network. This project linking the two main cities at the western region, meets the increasing demand to serve the rising number of internal and external pilgrims with a capacity of 60 million passengers a year, and it alleviates congestion on roads in Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah. Not least the project is to provide comfort, safe and fast transport services. The Haramain High Speed Rail has 35 trains each has 13 cars and 417 seats.

The projectdepends on 13 new technologies and is equipped to handle a temperature of 50°Cwhich is the maximum heat rate in Saudi Arabia.
