Authorities at the Makkah-based Grand Mosque announced that they have completed phase II of receiving worshippers as of Sunday, citing the success of phase I, the first post-coronavirus open-but-restricted assembly at the venue.

Spokesman of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs, Hani bin Husni Hayder released a statement on Friday to highlight the event.

"The holy mosque is made ready to receive worshippers as per strict instructions including observance of all kinds of sterilization, cleaning, and distancing on one hand and barring the entrance of personal food and drinks as well as adherence to entrance and exit timing on the other." The statement said.
