The Kingdom’s participation in this meeting is an extension of its international efforts and its interaction with the international community with regard to international statistical systems, as the Kingdom is one of the leading countries in the field of statistics, and this group was established on the recommendation of the United Nations Statistical Commission, as Saudi Arabia is a founding member.

The Group aims to continue dialogue with the international economic community and focus on meeting the needs of international economic policies for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in collaboration with the United Nations system of economists, and the participation of economists from the World Bank and regional development banks.

The paper presented by Dr. Fahad Al-Tekhaifi reviewed the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of building and updating economic statistical frameworks through constructive cooperation between the General Authority for Statistics with various authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to build a comprehensive, integrated, accurate and highly-responsive statistical system that meets all requirements at the national, regional and international levels.
