Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, highlighted the importance of the Middle East Green Initiative Summit, inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense in Riyadh earlier today.
In a key address at the summit, Prince Hussein stressed that all divine religions have recommended protecting the environment, considering concern in the environment an important matter and a good and valuable culture enjoyed by conscious people. He expressed hope for the Summit to realize envisioned goals and find solutions that can achieve cooperation among all stakeholders to face the challenges of climate change that does not recognize borders among the world's regions and countries, especially that became a threat to the planet in general.
He also said that Jordan has a national plan concerned with green growth that will attract the participation of several sectors, such as agriculture, energy, water and waste management, drawing attention to the influence of his country's resources with climate change, which inspired the country to pay more attention to these changes and challenges.
He also expressed hope for all participants to reach an agreement to adopt policies at the level of governments to face the impacts of climate change through accrediting modern agricultural methods that save water resources and ensure the sustainability of shifting toward renewable energy, encourage adopting electric vehicles, change wastes into energy resources, prepare policies that can provide sustainable finances for facing climate change, in addition to paying attention to exerting efforts to create a global culture through developing the educational system that would contribute to creating more solutions to fight this global phenomenon, especially that this is the true duty for future generations.
