EU commends G20 Summit agreement on confronting global epidemics

EU praises the agreement reached by the leaders of the G20 countries to confront global epidemics and economic challenges. This is at the conclusion of 2020 G20 Leaders' Summit that Saudi Arabia chaired. It also concluded its meetings in Riyadh Sunday.

A statement issued in Brussels by the EU stated that an international treaty on epidemics could help prevent them in the future. Besides, helping everyone respond faster and in a more coordinated manner; calling for negotiations with all countries and United Nations' organizations and agencies.

In this regard, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen expressed happiness at the agreement by G20 summit. This is to make COVID-19 vaccines available at reasonable prices for everyone.

The EU' statement also indicated the summit's agreement on a unified paragraph relating to the climate change in "Riyadh Final Communiqué".
