Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman; deputy premier and minister of defense; met with US Special Envoy for Yemen Timothy Lenderking; the Saudi Press Agency reported early Friday.
During the meeting; they discussed the latest Yemeni developments and reviewed the joint efforts exerted by both countries to reach a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
The meeting was of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan; Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid Bin Salman; Saudi Ambassador to the US Princess Reema Bint Bandar Bin Sultan and markedly Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al-Jaber.
From the US side; chargé d'affaires of the US Embassy in Riyadh Martina Strong and US Ambassador to Yemen Christopher Henzel also attended the meeting.
Lenderking; who was on an official visit to Saudi Arabia; that to travel to Oman; according to a statement from the US Department of State.
"US Special Envoy Lenderking's discussions will focus on ensuring the regular and unimpeded delivery of commodities and humanitarian assistance throughout Yemen; markedly promoting a lasting ceasefire; and further transitioning the parties to a political process;" the statement read.
Earlier this week; the US special envoy for Yemen met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in order to apprise him about the efforts being made to resolve the Yemeni crisis.
