Coalition forces intercept; destroy explosive-laden drone launched by Houthis

The Saudi-commanded Arab Coalition forces declared on Thursday its forces intercepted and knocked out a booby-trapped drone in Yemeni airspace that was launched towards the Kingdom by the Iran-backed Houthis; according to official news agency SPA.

The Saudi Press Agency quoted a statement by the Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen as saying that the militias have pursued hostile actions against civilians and civil targets.

"We are taking operational measures to protect civilians and civilian objects from hostile attempts;" an Coalition spokesperson said.

The Kingdom has come under fire from Houthi attacks on a regular basis since an Arab-led Coalition backed the internationally-recognized Yemeni government in its civil war against the Houthis.

Meanwhile; the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militias' attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a bomb-laden UAV; which was successfully intercepted and destroyed by the Coalition forces.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC); in a statement; stressed that these terror attacks by the Houthis reflect their blatant disregard for the international community and all international laws and norms.

The ministry urged the international community to take an immediate and decisive stand to stop these recurrent and systematic attacks that target vital and civilian installations and the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It also affirmed that the continuation of these attacks is a grave escalation that represents new evidence of these militias' attempts to undermine security and stability in the region.

MoFAIC renewed the UAE's full solidarity and standing with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against whatever threatens its security and stability; in addition to supporting all Saudi Arabia's taken measures to maintain its security; stability and the safety of its citizens and residents.

It also stressed that the security of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is inseparable; and that any threat or danger to Saudi Arabia is considered a threat to the security and stability of the UAE.

In Jeddah; Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary GeneralDr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has strongly condemned the attempt to target the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a Bomb-laden UAV.

He reiterated the OIC's stand with the Kingdom in all measures it takes to preserve its security; stability and the safety of its citizens and residents.

Dr. Al-Othaimeen commended the capabilities of the Saudi Air Defense that intercepted and destroyed the drone in Yemeni air space before reaching its target.
