Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Follows up on Delivery of Saudi Relief Assistance into Gaza

Saudi Ambassador to Egypt Osama bin Ahmed Nugali, in coordination with concerned Egyptian institutions, has followed up on the progress of delivering Saudi assistance to the Palestinian people through the Rafah border crossing.

In a statement from the Rafah crossing, the ambassador said that the seventh plane of the Saudi airlift arrived yesterday at Al-Arish Airport, noting that the airlift was in implementation of directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to launch a fundraising campaign, which was inaugurated by a generous donation of the leadership with SAR50 million, to help the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The Saudi people's position behind this humanitarian campaign is unsurprising, said the ambassador, adding that donations to the campaign amounted to about SAR500 million, stressing the Kingdom's historical position in supporting Palestinians at the political and humanitarian levels, which contributed to alleviating the suffering of Palestinians.

He pointed out that the volume of relief assistance provided by the Kingdom has reached around 250 tons, expecting it to double in the coming days by shipping it by sea. He stressed the Kingdom's keenness to ensure that relief assistance reaches those affected inside the Gaza Strip.
