Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, inspected on Friday the work progress at the General Directorate of Passports, in Riyadh.

Prince Abdulaziz met with employees at the Control and Command Center, Unified Call Center 992 and Customer Service Center at the directorate and listened to a detailed briefing on the services offered by these centers to citizens, residents and visitors, and reviewed some technological devices that enable the directorate to continue offering distinguished e-services.

He watched a visual presentation on the establishment and development of the passports sector, in addition to its top achievements and awards it has received.

Later on, Prince Abdulaziz launched the new Saudi e-passport that was designed with the highest technical and security features used in the international travel documents.

He also signed the document of inaugurating the passport that is the result of joining efforts among the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance and Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA), and is considered a step forward towards digital transformation that constitutes one of the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.
